Haha! The pianists look in this photo is straight from a horror movie! Like, I looked so now I will die next.

Not pictured, is the 2nd violinist...she is beautiful! Not relevant to some I suppose, but it was pleasant in row 2 on the left in Chicago.

And the show itself is so lively and exciting. I really enjoy getting to hear many of the big band instruments as well. It's nice that Glen is willing to work in a part for all the band mates at some point.

I expected the show to be good, but I was not prepared for what Glen and the band unleashed that night. They completely shattered my expectations.

    World class performance.

    It certainly was...
To hear Glen sing Grace Beneath The Pines on the edge of the stage with no amplification is a thing of beauty!!!
I loved the "Trumped-Up"  lyrics he added to the Woody Guthrie / Vigilante Man cover too.

Did he explain about being shown original Woody Guthrie lyrics to that song, and also that Donald Trump's father was Guthrie's landlord/slumlord for a time?  He intro'd the song that way in NYC at Town Hall and Brooklyn Steel.  Amazing!

    ENjoy enjoy enjoy!
  • I've been listening to the latest album a few times and I have to say.... I don't like it too much. Now don't get me wrong, I've been a huge Glen/Swell Season/Frames fan for years. In fact I've seen Glen in one form or another more than PJ but this last album is not my cup of tea. In fact "moving on" makes me want to move on to the next song every time... I can't stand the song

I like it, but I do think it's his worst album so far.

Agreed. It’s fine. It doesn’t blow you away though. Of all his solo albums and EPs, this one is my least favorite. Now, had Joe Schmoe released this album as his debut, I’d think he was the second coming.

yeah, it's not that good. i think it's telling that those spring shows didn't highlight much of the record despite the tour being in support of it. at the show here he only played 'roll on slow', and that was it. it's a pretty unremarkable record, imo.
