What is your favorite NIN song and why?

Curious what NIN song you all like- no reason, tell me which one and why please.

Hard to pick just one, I am going to say LAST from Broken.  All the rage, guitar grunge, and industrial skank I fell in love with in the early 1990's.

How can you not like a song that talks about dressing up rotten carcases, seriously!

Close second would be Suck from the same album.

I think I'll go with Perfect Drug. Great balance of the crunch of the DWS era but also forward thinking to the Post Fragile era of more electronics.

Mine is two in a way, The Frail into The Wretched

Oh shit, I forgot about The Great Below. Damn. Can I have two too?

  • Reptile.

So dark. Who writes songs like that? Reznor is unrivalled.

And then the Downward Spiral and Hurt follows it up.

    Exceptional artist.

I'll shut up after this post for a while but this is crazy (synchronicity at its finest):

This thread promoted me to play NIN... which I haven't jammed to in a while. Not even 20 minutes ago, while listening to The Fragile, my wife came in and plopped the vinyl Fragile I ordered back in December (it finally arrived).

    Crazy.

By the way... No You Don't is pretty damn good too. Very hard to make 'favourite' selection.

I'd say Gave Up. It was so heavy in 1992. I still can't help banging my head to it.

I love way too many NIN songs. Recently listened to PHM and Downward and forgot how Damn good every song is.

I will say that Head Like a Hole is what got me in to them so it's my nostalgic favorite. March of the Pigs completely blew me away when I first heard it. Just an absolute onslaught of guitars and drums into a classic Reznor howl. Also like Piggy for the exact opposite reason. A quiet sinister Reznor delivery.

My last favorite song is The Fragile. Absolute gem of a song on a masterpiece of an album.

If I had to pick just one, it would probably be The Fragile because it captures the early NIN and the turning point for post 90's NIN.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    Mr. Self Destruct

In that song, it has all the elements I enjoy; aggression, anger, passion, energy, and it sounds like gears grinding (particularly since I'm a mechanical engineer and car guy).

Wish, mainly it was the video that got me hooked on them for some reason. Saw it on MTV and i was entranced by it.  Not sure exactly why but i thought the video was really weird and cool at that time.

As I've gotten older the full on rage-y NIN doesn't resonate with me like it did when I was half my age. Slower/more electronic NIN is what I'm about now.

Wish, from the "Broken" EP is my favorite NIN song....it is a massive assault of guitar, drums and Trent's screaming!

Just a great song...  This is the one I like to crank up... My stereo went out in my bronco and I would hang headphones on my rearview mirror so we could listen to this album... Good times....
