Staind Reunion

Aaron Lewis did his benefit concert tonight in Northampton, MA which is close to his hometown. He went country few years back so his opening act was his country band. But after that Stone Sour played three covers by The Eagles, CCR and The Rolling Stones. Then the members of Godsmack and Staind played main set and they covered Metallica, The Rolling Stones, a few Alice In Chains and Bob Seeger. But they also did Crawlin acoustic by Linkin Park then Hunger Strike with Aaron Lewis singing CC part and Sully Erna singing EV part. The encore was the Staind reunion singing Staind songs with another song dedicated to Chester, Chris and Scott Weiland. I guess my point of this post is people might not like the "post grunge" bands but they were also clearly affected by the loss of Chris Cornell and others in the music community.

Was a great show. Was in a park just outside Northampton. The show was sold out and basically all country fans. I Haven't seen Aaron Lewis since he went country so was good to see him covering 90's music again. They did Rooster and No Excuses by Alice N Chains and the TOTD cover was good.  Aaron is basically non stop touring with his country band so Staind has been on "hiatus" for like ten years so officially not broken up but he knows what to sing to pay the bills. I just don't like country so haven't seen him in awhile.

  • I think he has a heck of a voice, I'm sure that was cool to see all of that.  If you find some video feel free to share.

Break the Cycle was awesome. I lost interest after 14 Shades of Grey, but really liked their resurgent self titled album in '11. Interesting to see their evolution and how much Lewis evolved. Always had a really good voice. I also really liked his tribute to Layne on 14 Shades.
