Could anyone give me some help on the FMV of the Wrigley '13 Cracker Jack? I checked out EBeans and it looks like the last few have sold from $625-$1440. Thanks for any help.

I think people usually go with the 6 month average.

I'd ignore the 6 month average on expressobeans it's usually way off. I always average the last 3 sales and mark that my price
  • 6 month average is right, imo.

The price history on expressobeans is a better gauge then the 6 month average. IMO

You don't prefer the computer doing the math on the sales for the past 6 months?  (I can see if it hasn't sold much....but if it is consistently selling isn't the average a better place to land?)
Just curious, I know you are a good collector.

Not really sure why there are such discrepancies.

Great example, the 6 month average is crazy on that one.  The last time it sold for as low as that number was almost 18 months ago.  The sales for the last 6 months have been 165, 165, 149, 155, 175, 100, 115 & 310 - at an average of $179.25, whereas ebeans show the 6ma to be $65!

  • Good info, glad to have learned this.  I assumed, incorrectly, that if they showed a 6 month average that it was correct.

    Agreed on this point.

Unless the recent trend has been upward.  Then nobody is going to sell based upon old numbers that don't reflect the current market.

Also, the listed averages on expressobeans are rarely up-to-date with actual recent sales.

I think the ebeans data is only as good as the info volunteers feed in from eBay. If people aren't linking auctions the data isn't captured.

That, and if you enter the info for your collection, theoretically you can fudge the purchase price to make it seem more valuable, if they use that in their tracking info.

    Thanks everyone, great input.

I assumed it was an algorithm. This makes me believe it's just someone manually changing the number.
