I'm guessing it was a member from the opening act, which I can't remember who that was, anyways, my wife really likes her voice on Rockin' In The Free World from Mansfield MA on July 11,2003. I know more than one of you will know! thanks

    It's funny you say that, alot of people complain that she ruins the song haha. But to each her own, Sleater Kinney was a kick ass band.

    Mansfield II '08

    EV Solo Shows:

    NYC I
    NJPAC

    I. LOVE. YIELD.
  • She didn't ruin it at all, her voice seemed so raw but mute its weird but for the song it worked!

    I love her voice in Fortunate son, of the same show. Damn, she owned the song! My favorite version of it!!
  • Sleater-Kinney friggin' rocks!! Far and away the best opener PJ has ever had. And for all you haters...what about Corin Tucker's tremendous back-up vox on "Hard Sun"?!
  • SK is a goood band but they ruin the covers on the 03 tour.
    {if (work != 0) {
    work = work + 1;
    sleep = sleep - work * 10;}
    else if (work >= 0) {
    reality.equals(false);
    work = work +1;
    }system("pause");
    return 0;}

    EquallyWorthless, I do tend to agree - however, when they opened on the 05 CA tour, they sang backup on Harvest Moon and it was pretty sweet. They also did a pretty good Danzig cover of Mother..for some reason I just can't get into them though.
  • I don't enjoy her on Fortunate Son at that show either, but I think it's because that part wasn't meant for a female voice. It's like I just saw Counting Crows, and opener Sara Bareilles sang on "Hanginarond." I don't know if it's because she kicked it up an octive, but it just wasn't quite right.

    Oh yeah ! That is ok and Corin sounds good on Hard Sun as well.

    When I first heard her sing Fortunate Son on that Boston bootleg I thought it was the big black lady from C&C Music Factory... Don't mind her so much on RITFW.

    This is hilarious. And spot on.

    I gotta say that the version sucked too. She seemed like she was just screaming at the top of her lungs to be heard. And way off key if you ask me. On the other hand, she was brilliant on Hard Sun. So I guess it's a draw. Don't really know too much more about her to judge.
    He who forgets will be destined to remember.
