Venues

So the QOTSA tour has me thinking about bands/venues etc. Someone posted that they thought My Morning Jacket was at the top of their game, and while I was at the Cincy opening show I didn't have the same feeling (a great show don't get me wrong). I feel like this Queens tour might be the last of a really great thing, smaller venues and a rock club atmosphere. Being from Ohio I've seen the Black Keys several times but have yet to see their arena show, PJ vote for change 2004 comes to mind, Kendrick Lamar is now doing arenas, twenty one pilots is way bigger than the few times I've seen them. I guess my question is do you take the venue/atmosphere into context when looking at a show. I travel around to see every significant venue so suggestions are appreciated. There aren't too many Vedder's out there that can make an arena feel intimate. Thoughts?
