Match For Africa 4 Seattle

Roger Federer made his inaugural visit to Seattle Saturday night (April 29) to play a doubles match with tech titan Bill Gates, against American tennis pro John Isner and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready. The game was part of the Match for Africa 4 Seattle event, benefitting the Roger Federer Foundation. RFF supports education projects in Africa, and Federer's home country of Switzerland. After a nail-biting (and highly entertaining) match, Team Gaterer ended up sweeping Team McIsner, 6-4. (Image: Sy Bean / Seattle Refined)

Mike did good! He won the first point of the match, against Federer, no less. He had some really good net points. He mentioned that he quit playing tennis a year ago (didn't say why) and when this came up, he kinda wish he hadn't quit.

A little disappointed that Roger didn't mention Mike, he thanked Bill Gates and John Isner. Granted, I think Bill was the main reason it all came together in such a short amount of time, and without Isner there wouldn't have been a match, but still. Very unlike Roger who is always so gracious.
