There's not a doubt in my mind that he would drop a nuke at some point. Anyone else play Fallout?

So you're Iran. What are your thoughts? Way to ratchet the tension Chief. When will the republicans in congress realize Trump is unhinged and a threat to national security. Actions have reactions resulting in consequences.

There shouldn't be a doubt in anybody's mind that he would do it.

I wonder if this was done just as an entry in his never ending pissing contest, or was it a tactical decision made by someone who knows what they are doing.

Here a similar designed bomb with a smaller payload that was dropped in Yeman.

This seems like a pretty pretty remote area. If this were dropped on a cave/tunnel complex with no civilian causalities, what is the issue? Big if...
  • Looks likes the reports of the investigations having concrete proof of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians must be true with this expensive distraction attempt.

His reaction when talking about bombing Syria is pretty disturbing. Giddy like a 12 year old with a new destructive toy. Not a reaction that included thoughts about uncertainty, escalation, and increasing tension. And it wasn't confidence, it was more like 'look at me and what I can do now'.

He seems pretty pleased with himself when things are blown up and people are killed. Not really a good sign. Next up, North Korea.

It would be a good time for there to be some clarification and direction given on what the US plan of action or desired military involvement is going to be moving forward. Trump needs to address what our objectives are over there and if we are getting involved in a more intensive bombing and ground offensive.

I don't like trump at all but I see zero problems with this. We killed a lot of bad guys with that bomb while zero civilians were killed. An article I read today said a lot of locals are hoping that the U.S. Drops more bombs like this to get rid of isis.

The results are the US spent $444,444 each for 36 kills and may or may not have destroyed a tunnel complex, in America's longest running foreign conflict. Accomplish any long term goal other than making Trump look like he's got a big dick? Maybe. Other than providing ISIS with further recruitment propaganda, I'm not sure it accomplished anything other than the aforementioned costs, deaths and destruction.

    94 bad guys were killed.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The number of militants killed in an attack by the largest non-nuclear weapon ever used in combat by the U.S. military has risen to 94, an Afghan official said Saturday.

Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor in Nangarhar, said the number of Islamic State group dead was up from the 36 reported a day earlier. A Ministry of Defense official had said Friday the number of dead could rise as officials assessed the bomb site in Achin district.

"Fortunately there is no report of civilians being killed in the attack," Khogyani said.

The increased death toll in Nangarhar was announced as officials in southern Helmand province reported at least 11 civilians were killed and one wounded in two roadside bomb blasts overnight.

The U.S. attack on a tunnel complex in remote eastern Nangarhar province near the Pakistan border killed at least four IS group leaders, Khogyani said. He said a clearance operation to assess the site of the attack was continuing.

The strike using the Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb, or MOAB, was carried out Thursday against an Islamic State group tunnel complex carved into the mountains that Afghan forces had tried to assault repeatedly in recent weeks in fierce fighting in Nangarhar province.

I don't like trump at all but I see zero problems with this. We killed a lot of bad guys with that bomb while zero civilians were killed. An article I read today said a lot of locals are hoping that the U.S. Drops more bombs like this to get rid of isis.

Try not to forget the conditions which permitted IS to grow into a problem. They merely jumped in to occupy a power vacuum created when previous evil actors were eradicated by the US, and when stability within the region was absent. The climate today isn't much different, so why would the outcome?

I suspect that for every nefarious group that falls in the region, another will sprout up, because they have a quality scapegoat for their problems (Western intervention leading to visible destruction), and have tied it to one of the most powerful elements in life - a belief system such as religion. I don't feel that this problem will end until the US addresses former mistakes and shows effort to make amends in ways that can't be perceived as further destruction.

Bombing the shit out of people does not change their outlook. If anything, it strengthens their resolve. Let's stop being so naive.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
