R.I.P. Don Rickles

I know InHiding already mentioned this elsewhere (thank you!) but I thought this news deserved it's own thread as well. Rickles brand of humor was offense to some but, with all due respect, I'm not sure those who were offended understood where the man was coming from. He had a big heart and respected all people of every race creed and color. His equal opportunity peopel offending was meant to use humor to illustrate that.

One of the greats, R.I.P. Mr. Rickles.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

It was considered an "honor" to have Mr Rickles berate you or insult you. It was comedy. No PC feelings hurt. Just comedy.

One of my favorite lines was him in Dirty Work. He looks at Artie Lange and says "look at ya. You baby gorrila..... Basking Robbins called and said they were down to 6 flavors because you are the rest!"

He had a good supporting role in Casino. Lot of comedy legends in that movie like him, Alan King and Tommy Smothers.
