Anyone else glad that the guys are not supporting a new album this time around?

I mean don't get me wrong, it's always great to hear the new stuff and we know the setlists will vary greatly regardless, but I'm really looking forward to the possibility that they could pull equally from all albums every night without feeling the need to play 7-10 songs from the new album.

hmm, I think the opposite. I think if they were supporting a new album I'd be more inclined to go to more shows.0 -
its good for setlists variations but at the same time, i'd love a new record0

I agree, as much as I'd like to see a new album. I feel like we will get a more diverse set then the '06 tour. Also the upside is that when a new album does come out in the next year or so, it means even more touring.'06- Irving Plaza (What a way to see my first PJ concert), Albany, Hartford, Camden I & II, East Rutherford I & II, Pittsburgh

Holy crap, you saw 8 shows in '06?!!? You MUST be dying for a diverse setlist.DC '03 - Reading '04 - Philly '05 - Camden 1 '06 - DC '06 - E. im personally happy...the last album doesn't rank very high in my album ranking list though......a new album probably would have meant more dates and a chance to get better seats via 10c, but bring on the Garden!0

Agreed. I'm sure this quick east coast tour will have some killer setlists. I mean take the '05 tour, that quick tour had some great setlists, alot of variations. i think this tour will be the same.5/28/06, 6/27/08, 10/28/09, 5/18/10, 5/21/10

Well yea, it was always the same songs from the new album that kinda became won out. At least the non new album songs were changing but it was always within the same group of about 50 songs. Thats why after having not seen them for a year, the vic was like the best show ever. I got to hear like 11 songs I hadn't heard them play live before. So with this tour being like 05 hopefully they will throw in some more surprises.

This will also be better for opening songs. Whenever there is a new album you tend to get new songs opening a lot of shows. So heres to Sometimes, Of The Girl, and Release'06- Irving Plaza (What a way to see my first PJ concert), Albany, Hartford, Camden I & II, East Rutherford I & II, Pittsburgh

The Grateful Dead used to tour the east coast every spring and they rarely put out studio albums. I think its great that they're touring without having to support a new album. They can play whatever they want, and how ever they want. I wouldn't be suprised to hear a few new songs and alot of covers.0

I have only been to 4 shows but I have never seen anything off Binaural and that is probably my favorite or 2nd favorite album. I am. But, keep in mind it's my first Pearl Jam show, so of course I want to hear more from the older albums.MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: 2008-06-11

I loove when they tour without an album to support. That was the great thing about the Canada 05 tour, there was a feeling that anything could happen any given night (setlist wise). IMO, the 06 shows while great, became a bit predictable with regard to placement and selection of songs.9/13/98, 10/4/00, 4/29/03, 6/29/03, 7/2/03, 9/28/04, 9/29/04, 9/15/05, 9/16/05, 5/12/06, 5/13/06, 6/27/08, 6/28/08, 6/30/08, 10/30/09, 10/31/09, 5/15/10, 9/11/11, 9/12/11, 10/19/13, 10/21/13, 10/22/13, 10/25/13, 10/27/13, 9/26/15, 4/28/16, 4/29/16, 8/5/16, 8/7/16, 8/13/18, 9/2/18, 9/4/18, 9/26/21, 9/1/22, 9/2/22, 9/14/22, 9/18/23, 9/19/23, 9/7/24, 9/9/24, 9/12/24, 9/15/24, 9/17/24, 5/16/25, 5/18/250
