Trump - 25th Amendment Solution

So, what’s Article 4 to the 25th Amendment? In the abstract, the amendment itself is about presidential succession, and includes language about the power of the office when a president is incapacitated. But Digby recently highlighted the specific text of growing relevance:
“Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.”
And what does that mean exactly?
Well, it means Congress isn’t the only institution that can remove a president from office between elections. Under the 25th Amendment, a sitting vice president and a majority of the executive branch’s cabinet could, on their own, agree to transfer power out of the hands of a sitting president. At that point, those officials would notify Congress, and the vice president would assume the office as the acting president.
And what if the challenged president wasn’t on board with the plan to remove him/her from the office? As Vox recently explained, “If the president wants to dispute this move, he can, but then it would be up to Congress to settle the matter with a vote. A two-thirds majority in both houses would be necessary to keep the vice president in charge. If that threshold isn’t reached, the president would regain his powers.”

I don't care if people disagree with her or make fun of her neck (which seems to be the new right wing attack point) she is brilliant. Her background speaks for itself.
And I don't give a shit if you don't like her because she is "too liberal" she reports the news as it is without slanting it her direction.

Give me a break. Every commentator slants things for an agenda. Oh yeah, you found Miss Holy Spirit of Reporting.
One, my understanding is this doesn't remove the president from office. It grants the VP presidential powers, but doesn't make him president. This is designed if the president was incapacitated or unable to fulfill the duties of his office, and not that people just don't like him.
If I am wrong above, then you still have to go through congress anyway. The article talks about this being a way to remove him from office without congress, but then goes on to say if the president doesn't agree then it requires a 2/3 congress majority. So in essence, still need a congress vote unless you expect him to resign.
To say he's unfit for office is a fair claim for sure if you don't agree with what he's been doing, but none of them are things he didn't say he was going to do beforehand. His enemies (which are many) are sadly shocked he's accomplished so much on so little time. Cheeto man signs something pretty much every two days. I guess you could say he at least stands by his word and accomplishes a huge amount of stuff.

I count 28 so far?
As for the idea that people are sadly shocked he's accomplished so much.... I think you're misinterpreting the sentiment, lol. I think people are sadly shocked just at the callous disregard for people's welfare that is shown in his executive orders, not by the fact that he sat his ass down in a chair and signed something in front of the cameras. It's pretty clear that it's not hard to sign executive orders if you can spin 40 of them out in a matter of weeks, lol. It's what those order DO that matters, and with Trump, that is not going well at all. I think that's why people seem dismayed. Interesting that some see irresponsible recklessness as being impressive though.
It's the devil in the details, dontcha know?

I can't imagine that Mattis believes Trump is fit for the office at this point either.
