A second look

Came a time back in the day
Didn't want to see
Had to look away

Enough of the blather
Too many voices heard
Never making much matter

Took the advice of a wise old sage
Headed to the woods
Locked away in a wooden cage

Swallowed whole in a vacuum of silence
Wallowing in loneliness
Daydreams of vengeful violence

But a sunrise here and a full moon there
Cast light on the truth
It took time to realize an aware

Mistakes are made a rule in the book
Don't lose a good thing
With an open mind give it a second look.
