Even for someone who is pro-life I still find it unethical for a doctor to lie to a patient.

I don't see how this could possibly make it through the Supreme Court though. I have trouble believing that this will actually happen... famous last words, lol.

True, but surely this will make it to the SCOTUS. Right? :confounded:

This is total B.S. Doctors should make all available information know to their patient. It is not their decision to abort and if they don't want to do abortions than they won't do it. I think any doctors that support this need to check their egos at the door.

Who knows if it will actually pass and get the gov's signature, but if it does then I'd expect it to be overturned. Probably before it even gets to the SCOTUS. We have some wacko judges in Texas but even the state supreme court manages to get things right sometimes.

Yeah, this one seems a little too crazy even for Texas. Doctors lying to patients? Not giving them vital medical information about themselves? That is incredibly dangerous, and the right for people to be given their own medical status pretty much belongs in the Human Rights 101 column in America.

Sadly, there is nothing is the modern Hippocratic Oath that says, "I will not lie to my patients". That document needs to be amended.

No, it doesn't. The Hippocratic Oath, where it is still used at all, is a holdover for ceremonial purposes. It does not replace the training in medical ethics and the laws governing informed consent that occurs throughout medical training.
