    How to best define "one of the best hitters in baseball currently" would be to look at who has the most hits.  There can be no more literal translation of this statement.
    Blackmon has the MOST hits in baseball right now with 85


    He also has the most total bases with 156
    He has scored the third most runs with 37
    He is tied for the fifth highest batting average at .337

    Facts cannot be argued.  He is one of the best hitters in baseball right now.
    (Didnt say he had the most power)
