Writing Assignment

I'm friends with a few English teachers in my middle school, and we try to think of bonus or free time assignments for our students.

With our music and PJ passion, I thought it would be cool to give our students a few PJ lyrics and they can write a paragraph about what they think it means or how they interpret it.

Any suggestions? We are looking for some lines that are pretty vague so their answers aren't simple!

I've spent a few days in the Lyric section of the message board, but the more the better! Thanks!!

    See, to me, that's the opposite. Yes, the life in between is all open ended, but as a statement...it's pretty straight forward.

    To me it's inspiration to make the most of the time you have. To make the most of yourself and to help others. We're all only here for a certain amount of time, so live life to the fullest, overcome personal demons and reach out and help others.

    That's why it would make for a great essay question. There's all kinds of interpretations and viewpoints you could write about.

    Empty cup in the middle of the sea

    I Got Id is one of my favourite songs. I like the metaphor in this verse and it inspired me for a drawing. Then my drawing inspired my daughter and she made her own drawing.

    Maybe it could work for a writing assignment too?
