... 3 guitars is too much?

Dont get me wrong, Im not saying that Ed is not a good guitar player, he is great, but in some songs I think that 3 guitars is too much.

For example:
grievance, MFC, green disease, rvm, worldwide suicide, etc.

I wouldn't go as far as saying Ed is great on guitar. Much improved for sure. This ITW tour couldn't have went down 8-10 years ago.

maaaybe, on some songs you could say that, but your examples are just horrible lol.
  • Personally I think its a sin to say anything negative about RVM since that song is just a beast. Also, I am probably wrong but I thought he only did the weird little intro thing on World Wide Suicide then he puts his guitar down. I thought I remembered that from when they played this on Letterman, but again I may be wrong. I dont think anything is wrong with three guitars, if anything its great that Pearl Jam has a lead singer who can also play really well. So many band bring in the singer to play a bit and its like the most basic one or two chords (god love you Chris Robinson, I think you are amazing, but Rich and Luther can handle the strings)

I think you are thinking of Severed Hand. Ed does the intro to that, and then the power chord riff, he then puts the guitar down while he sings, but gets it again for the ending jam session
