RIP Larry Coryell

RIP Larry Coryell. If you like guitar and have never heard Larry Coryell, please seek out his music and have a listen. He played with Miles Davis, John Mclaughlin and host of other Jazz greats. My favourite song by Larry is Souls Dirge Check it out.

Very pleased to see Mr. Coryell mentioned here on the Other Music forum. Coryell was one of the founding fathers of jazz rock fusion and an extremely versatile and gifted guitarist and a super nice fellow (I never actually met Coryell but saw him perform three time and corresponded with him a few times). I've been a huge fan since his first album came out almost 50 years ago and I was greatly saddened to learn of his passing. It brought me to tears.

Here's one of my all time Larry Coryell favorites, "Sex":

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
