that's awesome. I can't imagine how weird it must be for famous people to have people off the street wanting to talk to you.
I've said that, too. My husband was that "your music changed my life" guy until I told him that he probably creeped them out and to just say "thank you for your music." Works out so much better.
Read a good story here about a guy who met Jeff in Montana. Anticipating a geek-out Jeff called him outside the coffee shop to talk. Wish i could read that again
Havent met the band (other than asking all 5 a question during a radio interview) but with the famous people ive met ive found myself oddly calm and coherent lol. Even heroes of mine on par with PJ
i turn all music geek and ask questions about rare songs or albums or other things like that. i think some get caught off guard by that. like i'm interviewing them or something.
i think my reduced to puddle-ness would be directly related to my fandome of each one of them. matt and mike i'd be ok. boom would be awesome. stone, jeff, or especially ed, i'd be a fucking stuttering mess.

That’s what I did. I asked Stone about the telecaster Mike gave him around the Riot Act era & all the gear they used for Riot Act & WTDP

"met" Ed before the Hot Stove Boston show last year. Was waiting outside the venue early afternoon and his ride rolled up and he walked in right by me.
So naturally I blurted out "Hey buddy!" and then mentally facepalmed as he went through the door. Luckily I grabbed a good spot at the show and he grabbed a beer for me.
Meet Ed twice in Arizona. He comes here often for a guy that rarely plays here.
