I have a feeling that the longer this goes on behind closed doors, the more impatient the public will become which may feed back into the president's narrative of it being another version of the witch hunt.

Polling is trending in the right direction and for the right reasons. As more damning information comes out, a critical mass will be reached. It’s just a matter of time and it’s supposed to be difficult. Impeachment is not a trivial matter and nor should it be.

Drip, drip, drip. It’s not going to lose steam as the dems will strategically leak if needed. Better a slow, deliberate process. The dems should be pounding the theme of, “if a witch hunt, why all the non-cooperation, lying and cover up?”

I understand Juggler's concern and appreciate your stalwart faith it will all work out.  I have to say, I learn toward the concern myself but hope for the much desired (by most of us) outcome!

It's a given that he will be impeached at this point, probably this year. Public sentiment is the main thing driving senate republicans, though, so keeping an eye on the polls is important. This is not going to be easy for the dems...

And it's not just "public" sentiment but "Republican" sentiment.  And he's still at 87% with members of the Party of Trump.  I'm not sure what that has to drop to before careerist Party of Trump senators feel good about doing the right thing, but it's lower than that.
