Not a big fan of Lady Gaga but I was pleasantly surprised . Nothing to in your face, no wardrobe malfunctions. and I think she actually was singing the words not lip-synced. kind of refreshing . Not bad.
But now they can go back to rock music.
They've had,Bruce Springsteen, The Who, The Rolling Stones, U2.
and now Hall of Famers hell yes it should be Pearl Jam's turn now..

  • She did indeed actually sing instead of lip synching. Definitely a nice break from the norm.

But I don't know that I ever want to see Pearl Jam at the Super Bowl halftime show. I can't imagine them with a field full of in-sync dancers, a bunch of silly props, fireworks & explosions, and all that. That kind of stuff works for Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Madonna, Bon Jovi, hell even Prince. Not for Pearl Jam.

Duly noted but if The Who can pull it off, maybe Pearl Jam could too. But you're right it's probably not on their bucket list.
  • I will give her credit for actually singing. But all of those songs and her voice do not sound good to me.

Its just nice that Beyonce had nothing to do with the game whatsoever.

Glad Gaga didnt lipsynch, didnt try to make a statement outside of her usual lyrics, and didn't do anything outrageous. Just music. How it should be for the Super Bowl

    Gaga was awesome.

I gotta admit, I was never a big fan but I highly enjoyed the halftime show last night. To the point where I want to see a live show. Tix on sale in 2 weeks.
    She's got so many bangers.

I see Mark Ronson produced her latest album. Damn near everything he touches is gold.

My buddy who I always watch the Super Bowl with, we always mute it and put on another music. Usually some kind of classic album - sometimes it spills over into the game. Last night we put on Bob Marley's Bus to Babylon.

    Everything except his sister Samantha...
    ...wait, that came out wrong

Anyhow, props to Gaga for throwing down some Woody Guthrie right after God Bless America. Probably a lot of viewers didn't catch that.

That's funny....actually I'd REALLY love to see that now. The visual of PJ with in-sync dancers, glittery shoulder pads and quick song mash ups has me rolling now!! Lmao

PJ could do half time show with Ed lip syncing while hooked to cables riding the worlds largest surfboard down from the roof...
Well, he could actually just sing it for real instead. Maybe Mike could wear a flame retardant suit then burst into flames during his solo... bet they wouldn't even need a pyro tech either...

  • She looked funny when she was dropping from the roof.

I laughed when she threw the mic down and jumped off the stage at the end

We all know, Eddie has been a pretty good trapeze artist in the past and done some damn good stage diving so yeah I'm sure he could do something eye-popping as well.

And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.
  • I'd really love to see Ed come down on a giant surfboard as has been suggested, let's get the message to the band.
Maybe instead of a Superbowl a PJ concert instead.

At least there was not a political theme......

I'm just guessing here, but you seem like a music and melody guy and not a lyrics guy. A couple of Lady Gaga's songs tonight are definitely pro-LGBT. Especially "Born this Way". I'm not calling you out or saying you're wrong. Just an observation and assumption. Apologies if I'm wrong.
The performance was not overtly political. There were no speeches. I applaud her for that. I am not a fan of her music but I do respect her artistry. She let her music do the talking. Unlike other artist who make America and Americans look bad....
she didnt need to speechify... her songs do the talking... woodie guthrie was a nice touch, subversive some might say. ;)

i dont get that you think 'other artist'(whoever that might be) make america look bad by speaking out or making a a political comment... im not sure you quite grasp how we view your country... americans make themselves 'look bad'(and this applies to other nationalities too if the shoe fits)... we dont hear an american artist, whoever they might be and say holy fuckballs americans are stupid... we tend to point the finger at the artist and call them a dumbhead if what they say is disagreeable and lacking in intelligence or just plain stupid. well at least i do...

.... anyhoo i thought GAGA was great... hope she landed well after that mic drop...

    hear my name
    take a good look
    this could be the day
    hold my hand
    lie beside me
    i just need to say

Maby a jetpack for Ed with a surfboard strapped to his feet.He could start by swinging from the rafters and then come levitating down on the surfboard with fireworks going off everywhere. Singing Grammie out of Control
Everybody would be expecting Even Flow.
We'd have Grammie & 1 Improv and it would be done. 5 minute half time show. :o

I'm not sure about predicted. Maybe lady Gaga remembered doing this episode and it inspired her to copy it?
