    What I mean is the schools are making themselves irrelevant.  Technology is fast replacing any need for a teacher and people are seeing how teachers have an obvious political slant to their teachings.  Funding is drying up, more people select homeschooling every day, and the entire system is not based on educating but instead cramming for a test.  Rinse/repeat.

    funding is not drying up.  we spend more on schools today than we did 20 years ago although the past few years have seen some cut backs in funding.

    As someone who has a career in online and distance education, I can assure everyone that unsung is totally wrong and clearly doesn't have a clue about how learning and teaching really works in the general or online, although I'm sure none of you needed me to make the assurance.
