welcome, matt. one piece of advice.....this place can get under your skin. it can be incredibly enlightening at the same as time as incredibly frustrating. if you find yourself getting bothered by this place even when you aren't on here, time to take a break. I have had to take a few sabbaticals from AMT for my own sanity.mfc2006 said:Hi all...
I've only recently started coming to AMT, but have been active on the board for some time & wanted to say on simple thing. While I may disagree with a lot of the posts, I wish you all the best. Everyone has a right to their own opinion and no matter how much I disagree with those opinions....it doesn't take away that right. I was pissed off earlier today & my wife said something to me that hit me.."do not let one person or event affect the outcome of your day." Simple? You bet. Did I know this already? Sure. But when she said it, it resonated.
I did not vote for him. I sincerely hope he doesn't screw up our country. However, I will continue to do my best to respect all opinions; whether I agree or not. I will also continue to fight for what I believe in and stand up for those whose voices have been silenced. That's how I was raised.
I think I may be typing this out on an online forum to cement these thoughts in my tired mind.
Let's just try to take care of each other...the country...the WORLD...regardless of any biases we may have. We have one shot at this life...that's it. I plan to do my part to make the world a little bit better than when I first said hello to it.
Be well...and sorry for rambling a bit. I'm from Texas...that's what we do.
look at the posts of @benjs for a great example of how someone should post here. eloquent, intelligent, zero hyperbole or sarcasm and never a bad word to say about another poster. I try to channel him whenever I feel myself getting a little hot under the collar. not always easy.Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0 -
Agree on all fronts. Especially your great mention of @benjs. That guy is top notch.HughFreakingDillon said:
