Re:Trading

I've not pulled off a trade on Lost Dogs before. I've purchased a number of things over the years and though I've had only 1 problem, I understand that with PayPal you have some insurance if you don't receive the items promised. What protection do you have when trading?

Thanks in advance.

Just the basic understanding that if the items don't arrive as described, that the trade can be reversed. Not only that, but most people that buy/trade/sell around here on a consistent basis have a pretty good reputation for doing things the right way.

You would think a like minded community ur safe sending money as friends on paypal. I have done heaps of transactions on here with only 2 issues. Those 2 requested pay as friends which i did. Nothing arrived and i have no course of action through paypal. And they never sorted the issue. Buyer beware

I have traded dozens of times here without any issue. If you want to be extra careful, ask him/her for the name of a few people they've traded with in the past

Just add the 3% commission to cover the payments as goods

Check their posting history as well. If they've been around for many years with a lot of posts, they're probably honest. If it's someone who has been around for (say) less than a year with 30 posts, buyer before.

And yes, do the "pay as goods" option.

No protection with trading. You could always just buy each item off each other for the same dollar amount, then it would just be a sale which PayPal might protect you

Good idea. PayPal fees would be cost of deal insurance.

Thanks very much for the help. If it's a larger transaction the PayPal would definitely provide
peace of mind for both parties.
