If you like Graffiti, rap and Old school hiphop hen this show is for you.

What a great show! Takes place in the Bronx in 77 when the hood was burning, literally. It shows how the different boro's were coming up with DJ's and rapping was in it's infancy. This particular journey shows Grandmaster Flash and his "apprentice" Shaolin and his "wordsmith".

It's fiction nand nonfiction. Very well written and directed.

So I had this confused with Hip Hop Evolution, another Netflix original series that was recently added. However, I did take some time this weekend and watched the first 3 episodes of The Get Down. What a freakin awesome show! I about shit my pants when I saw Giancarlo Esposito. Really digging the dynamic between Zeke & Mylene so far. Never seen these kids in anything before but they've got some talent, especially the girl playing Mylene - what a voice! Kevin Corrigan was a welcome sight; loved him in Grounded For Life. I'll be sure to finish the series.

Grounded For Life is another gem that I loved!
