Lost....My....Soul
Friends....We....Lost
Good Night!
And yeah I try not to be a dick. There’s been a lot of fights and arguments on here the past couple months, and that kind of stuff just drains me at this point so I just try to stay away from all that bs lol. It’s not what I come here for.
Anyways...the Phish run in Mexico starts tonight! I’ll post an audio link later when I come across one.
Lost...in (the)...Ozone
@SmallestOceans I can see that you were into the heavier metal in the 90's. I was into Van Halen, Yes, Tull, Bruce, Scorpions, etc etc etc when I was in high school. The dudes in O.A.R were playing with plastic toy instruments back then.I never got into the metal bands in the '90's - it's interesting to listen to them now.
Please post a link - I'd live to hear the beginning of the Mexican Phish Phestivites!! Mucho Bueno!

^^ Post the link SO! And righttt no need for fighting on a rock forum. I'm here to be entertained.
@tempo_n_groove Yesss ha ha I believe she actually must have been quite eccentric. I used an agent so I never met her during the sale. However I knew she was a graphic design artist. She painted this ocean mural on one of the bedroom walls. Its kind of bizarre amd cool at the same time. I always thought I'd redo the room and paint over it but it hasn't happened yet. I live 15 minutes from the beach but not on the beach so when my family visits I give them the room with the mural view. We call it the ocean room. She ended up renting a house down the street from me while she was having a house built and I took my daughter trick-or-treating at her house. She had fiery red hair... just like Tori
@hauntingfamiliar I love the slow jams of the Dead and other bands. I saw Bob Weir's side band Bobby & the Midnites when I was at Rutgers - they played in one of the auditoriums. I was drunk and the rest of the crowd was stoned on various substances so they were appreciating the music more, but I had a good time. The entire concert was similar to that song. Brings me back, thank you.
I have stayed away from AMT and even other threads lately because they aren't healthy places to debate, which I love to do. They get real personal real fast and I posted today and I saw that the sniping has continued, which is a shame, @tempo_n_groove tells me to stay away and I have been so good. But I thought I'd stick my toe in the water and the temperature just wasn't right. :
I need positive energy more than you know and that's why I love this thread. You guys let me be me and I love all of you for who you are and for the music you introduce me to, especially SO's manly links.
Seriously, this thread is like home to me.
So enough of the blather - I only have a couple days left to my self proposed O.A.R week
I have no idea if any of you are even watching these but I've been having a hell of a time looking for good ones.

March is gonna be a busy concert month for me. I’m seeing Pink Talking Fish who cover Floyd, Talking Heads, and Phish really well. Meeting hauntingfamilar up in Asheville to see Uncle Acid with Graveyard and Mike Gordon the next night. Sort of dragging her to that first show but the bands aren’t nearly as cryptic as they sound! Mike Gordon should be great, i’ve never seen him play solo. Elton John the weekend after with some potential Jeff Tweedy and Get the Led Out. Bobby and Dark Star Orchestra later in the month. Got any shows coming up on the radar?

^ Lots of love for ya Nancy!!
And Yesss the variety and exposure to different types of music on this thread is fantastic!
Tempo I used to be absolutely obsessed with Beavis and Butthead"Washin' the dog, washin' the dog!!"
Come...Together...Yeahhttps://youtu.be/fpT4kgg5xlw
I never knew this version existed until a few months ago. It's so dark and sludgy and completely rocks.

It's so dark and sludgy and completely rocks.Sludgy is a great word for that version - nice!Really liked the Chili Pepper Song @SmallestOceans !My only concert for this year is O.A.R at The Garden State Arts Center (names die hard with me) and they have one NYC date but no venue yet - so I'm waiting on an alert - fingers crossed. I got no money so I'm charging and causing myself pain. But it's something to look forward to! And something to get me out of the house. I'm dragging my son with me with a promise that he can get high if someone else lights up first (Bizarre parenting a 21 year old who is kinda in his late teens emotionally).Looked up American Authors - they have a song that is used in a commercial so they have crazy hits on the one song - but I listened to a sampling including acoustic versions and they're 4 young guys doing jam, roots, some electronic and pop vibe but they can sing and play so they will fit with O.A.R and I think I'll enjoy them.

My laptop fu'n died on me and I had to get an old one up to date so I will continue O.A.R week
with a kick ass jam
BUT FIRST I'm going to post a surprise for @tempo_n_groove , and everyone else cause this is SOO not my lane.My son came home from his part time job about a month ago and played a song for me by this rapper called Token. Me and him have had a tough time of it, esp the last couple years and this song was his way of telling me how he felt when he didn't have the words.I have listened to it so many times and I've even listened to Token do freestyle on Sway numerous times, so my son may get to go see him in Boston (he ain't playing NY metro, little bastard). It's March and I don't know if I can get my shit together that quick butThis song is almost a perfect description of me and him and the family situation and it has helped us start to heal..(A freaking rapper, right??)Anyway...Yeah...HeroesShit makes me cry.& think & understand & change. Here's the lyric video if you don't understand when he starts spittin' (listen to my badass self ) I just made my son cringe -

I’m no rap god or expert lol, I used to listen to some when I was younger but barely any rap these days. But I think Eminem opened the door in regards to talking about family struggles and interpersonal conflicts. Granted he did it in a crazy way lol. But maybe these young kids now can take something away from that in that you can be open and vulnerable about the tougher struggles we all go through. Sending lots of {{{Vibes}}} your way Nancy!

I obviously don't know anything about Rod Stewart bc I never heard of the band Faces. Just thought he was always solo?? Idk. My best friend in high school really liked him and played his songs a lot. Along with U2, RHCP, Pink Floyd, INXS, George Michael and Depeche Mode. Her mom used to get great joy out of waking our lazy asses out of bed on Saturdays by blasting Rat over the vacuum. Then '92 happened and we were all never the same musically again.
