They haven't even started and it is soundgarden's turn with Matt. 2017 seems highly unlikely unless they change how they've been writing and recording albums for the last 15 years

They've checked off a lot of never's since 2013....never played a baseball stadium, never taken a 3yr hiatus from the west coast, longest break from a European tour, etc. they are evolving both personally and professionally. I want a new album in '17 as well, but I am betting '18 at the earliest.

Not sure but u can guarantee that the first two songs will be garage rockers, the next few might be a stab at a radio hit, and that the final song will be slow.

I really hope they take a big step away from this format. I love BS and LB but I feel like they are ready and obviously able to do something different. I really love how spacey their sound was on masters of war at the ball park shows. Comfortably numb is another example. I hope they felt inspired by working these up to where they currently are. Then there's Of the Earth. Sounded so amazing at TMR. I really hope we get the punky garage rocker pj with some spacy, jamming pj and just leave the love songs alone. That's my hope.

When Even Further Future Days and Sleeping By Myself Reprise are written, then the record will be ready. Until then, let's be thankful other bands are still trying to push the envelope.

I agree with you. They definately need to go in this direction. Save the love songs for Eds solo work.

I wish for the atmospheric sound of Riot Act, Binaural or the Merkinball single. And songd with a lot of mood.

On the two latest albums there's a lot of "fast punk rock songs to show we still got it" and variants of Mariah Careys "I will always love you".

Thought someone mentioned recently that Jeff said they had studio time in the new year, but might literally be to flesh out some demos and ideas prob without Ed. Maybe even without Matt if busy with Soundgarden.

Yea I was going to say that. But I knew where he was going with it. He meant more pop than country
