Where if anywhere are you getting posters framed?? I could go up near Toronto if there is somewhere up there but mostly looking to smaller city centres. Anyone with any input, thanks in advance
Cheers

  • Been getting them framed at a place in T.O. called Galley Hi Art on Yonge. Good but not cheap!

  • too expensive honestly. i feel a bit guilty about how much i'm spending some of the frames cost more than the posters. they're good frames though and i've been waiting to do this a long time.

I've got like 24 to be framed. I don't mind mid range but also don't wanna have to me making multiple trips to Toronto I'm about 1.5 hours south and it's not the ideal spot for me to get it done if it's real expensive.

A few years ago Deserres.ca carried an off-the-shelf 18x24 wood frame with a plexi-glass cover. They were about $30. They no longer stock them. The only posters, I've custom framed are my two 12x36, and I used American frame and shipped it to a Kinek spot in Buffalo.

Cave Art, in Burlington, will cut the standard off-white mat that comes in an Ikea frame. Ikea (in the Ribba line) doesn't make an 18x24 frame, so I buy the size up. The frame is $25, I think, and Cave Art charged under $12 with taxes to cut the mat. It's nothing glamorous, but it's how I choose to frame my $40 concert posters.

I hope you find a place or method of framing that you're happy with.

They do great work. I trusted them with my signed poster and they didn't disappoint.

  • Yeah that's the average of what I'm paying too. Tough when the framing costs more than half the posters.

I always cave and go to Michaels. I get simple custom black frames and no matting, and end up spending $100ish. I always want more, but 30ish posters x$200 is $6000 I don't have.
