I need advice from those who travel to shows

Should I just book my trip to DC and hope to score a ticket? I seem to be having no luck with tickets. I want to go, but am afraid I will not get inside the venue. Any advice ?

    Just go. Take the trip, you'll find tickets. I found tickets for both Boston shows day of for slightly over face.
    Finding tickets you want is not some herculean task.

    Are you planning on Amtraking from NYC? Man I am so tempted to do this...doesn't seem like anyone has been on here saying they were shut out from tickets, wouldn't be surprised if more were released from TM in the next day or so too - I say do it! (But of course there is a minor element of risk which makes it all the more adventurous...)

    I hear you. I am traveling solo, female and a member of AARP, so I guess I am just a bit apprehensive. You are probably right. Just gotta take the risk.

    No,but I found bus fares for less than 50 bucks roundtrip leaving from Penn Station to the Metro station in DC.

    People were offering tickets to Newark at or a little below face...you'll be fine

    I'm feeling the same...I went to NY1 and Newark and feel the need to get to one DC show. I keep trying to find an extra for saturday or sunday show. I'm female and driving alone so I'm a bit apprehensive and would still need to get a tick once i get there.

    At both my past shows I read that people were just giving ticks away...which seems crazy.

    Wow, how long is that trip? Are you staying overnight or coming right back after the show?

    Edited to add - is this either the mega bus or the Fung Wa? I've done Fungwa to Boston but never DC, I know it goes there and its cheap, runs back and forth to Boston every hour but it would be a LONG trip...

    It would appear that Sunday night is less in demand. Stubhub has a bunch of tickets for that show for below face, so i'm sure you would be able to score quite easily on the night. I'd reckon there will be one or two going on Saturday as well but with the venue capacity being smaller than most of the other EV shows you might need a little luck. Hope it works out either way.

    I'm looking at Mega bus and am coming back the next AM, so I have to hang around, too. Mega bus leaves DC at 6:30 AM. Trip is 4 hours ish.

    Work schedules are in the process of being rearranged and there is a SMALL possibility that I might be able to head to DC I too...feels a little crazy but maybe it would be totally worth it...I don't know! Going out now I'll be back later.

    Check out the pre party as well, good chance that someone there has tickets!

    good luck... i'm sure you'll get a ticket!
    i made my airline reservations a week before the newark show without actually having a ticket to the show...
    and it all worked out great (thanks to an awesome ten club member who is a new friend)

    and by the way, i had to do a great deal of butt-kissing as well... my husband was -oh-so-thrilled that i was going to another show after we spent a small fortune on the pearl jam shows and traveling to nyc etc..

    Thanks, I'm thrilled. The hubby looks at me and shakes his head. He's happy, though, because he was worried I would get down there and get nothing. This morning even Stubhub was basically sold-out of these two shows. Amazing.
