Anyone heard it? Worth the upgrade over the 16/44 (from CD)?

Also, where ya buying HD FLAC from?

OMGTIA

Thanks. Not sure I am hearing much difference on the 24/192 version on my office set up. Will listen again later via Pono and Shure SE535's

I've listened to Yield on CD a lot. When I listened to the 192/24 files, I thought I heard differences, but I can't really explain where or how. Maybe it's just my brain trying to justify my purchase of bloated files, lol.

It's tough to buy Flac-HD's these day's if you live outside the USA. Hdtracks has a lot of goodies but 95% of their library are USA exclusive. Pono has been down for many months now which sucks!

I'm glad Pearl Jam / Nugs are able to sell their digitial Flac-HD tracks for everyone outside the USA.

listening now to lossless cd rip vs Acoustic Sounds 192/24 hd version. HD version has more punch, definition and clarity. Better Bass, guitars are like a direct feed into my head.

    Playing through winamp--soundblaster E5 DAC/AMP @192/24---Grado 325i

HD versions are audibly richer, clearer and realistic. It is not a lot, and most average setups may never hear a difference. I can hear clear differences in the thuds of the drum, the separation of instruments. Noticeable less muddle if that makes sense.

I think it is like a difference of being in the studio vs listening on a great setup. Both are amazing, but one is just better.

I can say 100% the HD tracks are better- my ears wet the cans it was so good
All Those Yesterdays sounds like Ed is literally next to me talking to me. The layering of his vocals is unreal

beware, there are two different versions of HD, one at 96/24, one 192/24

only Yield and No Code are 192/24, some are 96/24, some 88/24, some 44.10/24

Funny how people can hear different things. All I hear is digital compression. And single digit Dynamic Range. Was no a fan of these "HI-RES", my OG needle drop blow them away imo. But the good thing about it is, if you like them .. enjoy.

^^^^not good - I do however like the original CD - it's one of the better sounding discs from the 90's rock era. The vinyl sounds good also :)
