Pearl Jam similarity on Metallica's new record

Back in 2008 when Metallica's "Death Magnetic" was released, there were many comparisons say that the song "The End of the Line" has a riff that sounds very similar to Pearl Jam's "Why Go." Now with Metallica's release of "Hardwired...To Self-Destruct," I noticed a new similarity. This time it's not with the music but with the art direction. "Hardwired..." art projects images of the band members faces on to head shaped canvases, just like from Pearl Jam's self-titled record. Here are the music videos for PJ's "Life Wasted" and Metallica's "Now That We're Dead." Is this just a coincidence or does Metallica really love Pearl Jam?
