I would do it only because kong is my top wish I had. Tough though as I really like the catch. But ya i think kong is "worth" more on the street. Does cracker jack match up more with kong?

I think CJ at this point definitely matches up better with Kong than the "Catch", because, if nothing else, time has proven CJ's value as being a solid $400-$500 poster. I still give the edge to Kong over CJ though because I believe there were much less Kongs made and sold. Anyways, if I were OP's friend and wanted to trade a Kong for the Catch, why not try and get an orange variant AP? At least its much closer in value...
The AP's aren't selling very high either and neither are the variants.

I think people like the red better than the orange.
A Thomas variant just sold on Oct. 25th for $511.01.

Yep, I overpaid for a poster once also. Paid $400 when it was hot and I was stupid and couldn't wait.. now that same poster goes for $200.

My friend has the variant and I just have the show edition. I think it looks better with the red coloring. Wasn't there an addition variant that went out? I thought someone posted a pic of the baseball player with white socks?

But at least he'd be getting a "rarer" poster. A limited edition of 100 or 200, and not 1 of thousands....
Same poster just with a signature, which I prefer though.

Doesn't anybody have a clue what the run was for show edition kong and Thomas?

If I had to guess with the Thomas I'd say 2-3000.

I have a Thomas AP Catch I would think about that trade. Don't know if I want to get rid of it but always wanted a kong.

I wish I never sold my Kong print several years ago. I was in a tough spot and it wasn't getting framed, and it was too large to safely store flat. Had to go--someone on here got it for much less than it's worth today. :)

Kong is probably around $500 - 600 to buy, so would be a reasonable trade for a few of the 98 posters, Pitt 13, Crackerjack, Fenway Thomas variant, Moline (the way those prices have jumped lately), maybe a sealed RVM or Lost Dogs vinyl or coloured PJ20 at a stretch but any of those LPs would be a stretch. But, as others have said, any trade where both parties are happy is a good and fair trade.

Sealed Vault 3 and Thomas show for Kong would be extremely fair at this point.

Sealed Vault 3 probably fetches $275-300
Thomas will go for $200+ in the near future, if not already
    Kong goes for $500(+)
    Seems reasonable. Maybe??
