i've often wondered if any species that live among us are alien to this world. some have hypothesized that octopus is not from here. i can't remember why, but when given the explanation, it didn't sound too out there. found it:lukin2006 said:We'll never find another earth like this that will sustain US ... thats not to say there is not live beyond earth, because the odds are definitely in the odds of other life out there...but my guess is life beyond this planet isn't even close to what we think it is. They're using that metaphorically to emphasize the unusual nature of octopus behaviour and their genetic makeup, not to say that they are literally aliens. They still have the same DNA, RNA, and the like as all the living creatures on our planet, which would seem to be vanishingly unlikely if they literally were aliens.HughFreakingDillon said:
