Republica - Ready To Go vs. Pearl Jam - Severed Hand

DISCLAIMER: This post isn't meant to stir up any conspiracy theories or controversy. It is meant to celebrate the idea that two different bands can use a melody in very different ways wihtout one having ripped the other off. Looking forward to everyone's thoughts!

I never noticed this before today. The intro chord progression to Severed Hand sounds very similar to Republica's Ready To Go. There are several different recordings and mixes of the Republica tune, this one best showcases the similarity. While the version linked is from 2010, the original Republica song was released in 1997, well before the "Avocado" release in 2006.

    i always thought the part after this "controversy" on severed hand(49 seconds in above) sounded like porch at the 29 second mark of the below video

    for some reason i cant get the video to start at 28 seconds, its starting at 8 seconds..
