West Virginia, a red state, "Plantiff is one of an unknown number who may be disenfranchised on NOVEMBER 8, 2016." Because they couldn't register on line? Where's all the voter ID law proponents screaming about fraud? Register on line without showing ID? The fucking horror!!! Trumpeters shout it down!!!!!!

Do you even read or comprehend your alleged allegations of voter suppression?

Bernie lost and he's a loser.

Since non-American 10c members can't vote in this poll they can respond.
Trump has changed one major thing that is undeniable.
He has got people of all ages and races across America and the world to talk about and engage in politics.
    Something that has been lacking.

How do you figure? People talk about it every four years. This just has a more disturbing trainwreck/circus appeal. A lot of people have tuned out, and a lot of Trump voters are hiding in the closet without commenting.
    I missed this question somehow.
    Pose it in another thread.
I don't want to shit on the OP thread.

Was asked if I wanted to go to a going away party for this guy I sort of know (nice kid, going into the service, wife knows him better and longer than I). Where? I asked her. At so-and-so's, she said. But you might not be happy. They might do some shooting and they're big Trump fans. Ohhh.

So I thought if I go, I should poll the crowd while we shoot the shit. But I might be the shit that gets shot.... so never mind. I think I'll stay home, thank you very much. :skull:

I'm all for voting to, Mickey. I believe in voting and I wish we had more conscientious voters. It bugs me that some pretty sharp people still refuse to vote. But that said, if we are to follow a true line of democracy we probably should respect the right of the who chose not to vote... to not vote.

well, politics is local anyway. So THAT participation is paramount imo.

low voter turnout + party hack candidates + gerrymendering districts = the state of politics today.

really looking forward to the changes Maine is making. ranked voting. I kinda like Cali's system in theory. most votes determine the race from the primaries irrespective of party? How is that shaping up?

Ohio voted to change our charter last cycle to change how districts are drawn beginning in 2020. Downside to it is while its bipartisan, its bipartisan only. R and D only. Would have preferred to see a non-partisan commission draw them up but something needed to give on congressional districting. We'll see how it goes.

Do you think Roe v. Wade should be overturned and women who have abortions should be punished?
no i dont think it should be overturned as im all for individual rights, BUT i believe we should have a serious tweaking of term limit abortions and specifically make it for rape, incest, and medical....i know people who have had abortions and they didn't fit any of that criteria and i wish i could see the stats on that...and when the hell are people going to start fighting for babies rights as much as adults who have lived a good chunk of their life??

and you bring up one issue out of the the dozens that i may not disagree on...this isnt a one issue election
I knew a girl who used abortions as her form of birth control. it was disgusting. but she is the extreme minority. I cannot imagine the stress on the system if we forced everyone to have their baby. is Trump willing to budget for that? I guess he wants more "inner city" kids that no one wants??
Im not saying we should force anyone to have children, lord know there are people in the news who have kids that should have never had them, but the original concept of abortion was to keep the minority population down...thats why i am completely stumped why minorities support the democratic party (not saying they should support the repubs), but thats a whole other conversation
    ?? What an insane comment.
Abortion has been around for almost as long as human women have been getting pregnant. The orginal concept of abortion came from women who didn't want to have a baby for whatever good reason. The only difference now is that it is safe rather than incredibly dangerous and sometimes deadly. In places where abortion isn't legal, these desperate women try other means despite the severe risk to their own health and well-being.

I just got my absentee ballot for FL. Im so glad cause I surely dont want to be in the lines on Nov8, I have to work anyway. Here in tge Palm Beaches I still see mostly Trump lawn signs especially here on the island. I always thought though Palm Beach County was mostly a Democratic county not looking so in this election. Mailing my ballot tomorrow JS.

For this considering a third party candidate please look into Gary Johnson and realize that he is much more conservative than liberal. I feel like many people don't understand this.

I didn't think the Don had a chance in hell w/ the media and those all knowing celebs doing everything they can to make mush brains not vote for him. But looking at this small sample size the guy might get a chance to make America Great Again. Keep on spreading the word of other Por favor....

Abortion has been practiced for millennia, so I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that it was intended to keep the minority population down. You may be thinking of the eugenics movement, where sterilization was forced on many people in the early 20th century. But abortion laws in the U.S. initially came about in the 19th century.
It seems like one of those half baked theories that are made up to try and keep minorities from voting Dem.
ok im aware abortion wasnt created just to hold minority births down (i misspoke i will admit in my wording) and it been around way before that but there is plenty out there to read

some of you may want to read up

This is nothing new, but people love to act like it's new information.

Do you realize how difficult it would be to steal an election? Hell, just here in Illinois, there are 109 election jurisdictions. The vast majority of those are operated by elected Republican office holders. My ballpark guess is that each jurisdiction has an average of 40 precincts that are operated by Democratic and Republican party representatives.
There are checks and balances all the way from the State Board of Elections all the way down to election judges serving on Election Day.
Don't you know the queen is omnipotent?
