Set: Come on Down, 33 RPM, P.C.C., Ozzie, Together We'll Never, Baby Help Me..., Leech, Swallow My Pride, New God, This Town, Ain't Nothing to Do
Notes: This was the second day of a two-day festival to celebrate Sub Pop's 20th anniversary. Mudhoney played the first day. The guys take part in a group hug backstage before coming out and bringing the rock. In attendance side-stage are Dan, Guy, Matt Cameron, Jack Endino, and Chad Canning, among many otheres. When they finish Baby Help Me..., Mark mentions, "That song breaks my heart every time," and then introduces Leech: "We made a demo in 1984 and passed it around to friends. The Melvins recorded this song and pulled a Led Zeppelin by crediting it to themselves. We're the Willie Dixon of Grunge. Now that we've got the combined legal forces of Sub Pop and Pearl Jam, we're taking it back!" He introduces the band by saying Jeff and Bruce are from Montana's Deranged Dixon, Stone and Steve from The Ducky Boys, Alex from Spluii Numa and he's "the evil genious behind Mr. Epp" (something he took credit for on 1/9/89, as well). As Ain't Nothing to Do crashes to a finish, Alex, in his priest's collar, darts out from behind the drum kit and goes for a crowd surf, surprising everyone else on stage. Jeff takes over on drums as they continue to make a racket. Finally, Alex makes it back as Mark exhorts him to "Rise up!" The crew brings out three or four large boxes, and the guys cap it off by throwing dozens of the classic "Ride the Fucking Six Pack" shirts into the audience.

That sounds fucking insane. Wish I could've been there.

Sounds awesome! I wish I could have been there... maybe they'll play some more dates! Hopefully this will prompt sub pop to re-release some of those old grungey gems.

It was great, I was 8 when they were at their peak. So listening to there records gives no sense of how heavy they actually were. I thought the songs stood up well 20+ years later. It was awesome to see Jeff, Stone, Bruce, Alex, Mark, and Steve having such a good time.
I didn't get one of those shirts, I wrestling on the ground with some guy, we both had the thing wrapped around our arms and ended up doing rock, paper, scissors and I lost to him. Damn it!! We were arguing about who has seen better Seattle shows. We had 15 years on me so he proably had since I was too young to have scene Green River play in the late eighties. Though, I have scene over 500 shows, so maybe I had an argument. LOL

REALLY WANTED THE TSHIRT ME AND MY BROTHER CHECKED THE MERCH STAND AFTER EVERY BAND and nothing . really want this shirt in xl or l(won't fit well but I'll accept it)]
The people on the side stage were like a seeing a wall of Seattle music history.
There was Jack Endino, Phil Ek, Mudhoney members, Screaming Tree members, Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, I even spotted Kim Warnick (SP??) of the Fastbacks in the audience.
I also saw Josh Wells and Amber Webber of Black Mountain watching Comets on Fire.
Great Show and Environment
Felt like we were at a backyard BBQ with every seattle legend and new music artist.
And there was a Camera crew shooting during the the entire festival as well as signs saying that we were being filmed, so a DVD of this is likely.

Alex Shumway a.k.a. Alex Vincent crowd surfed while Jeff Ament filled in on drums which was awesome the only down side was that instead of selling shirts they through a few into the crowd at the end which sucks for the people who waited so long to see a GR reunion but the overall performance was amazing Matt Cameron looked blown away watching from the side of the stage. Even though the Melvins stole Leech they are still an awesome band.
Is the show still up on Dime A Dozen? I got a 404. My membership lapsed again so I'm waiting for more signups to open it, but I won't keep trying if the show's down.
