Worth the 4am to see it! Agree with the edits, hopefully I can see the full speeches somewhere videowise, I passed off the first inproper broadcast apart from Letterman so I could see it in better quality this time round, least they didn't cut any of the songs though! I Loved Jeff's speech I know a few weren't too keen but it was moving for whatever much I saw of it.

HBO cut Rockin In The Free World short. WTF?
They start rolling credits during the song then abruptly end the show.
Why didn't they cut something else out so they could fit Pearl Jam's performance in full?
I respect Tupac Shakur but Snoop Dogg went on and on and on and on. They could have edited some of that out like about parasaling & smoking first joint...Oh Well..

Cool. Was testing 106 earlier but the quality was very low during the day. CH26 was so clean & crisp, even @ the normal download stream settings was sweet!

RITFW was weak but i thought the rest was fine. seeing Ed get emotional and hearing Alive really got to me. what a journey we've had with these guys. the rest of show was hit or miss. Yes was fucking great. ELO was really good. can do without the rap.

Every time after an event like this. I like to check how well the artists albums do. So far Ten and the greatest hits are seeing a bump. I wish it would help albums like Binaural or Riot Act

Sorry, this isn't The Rap & Cuss hall of fame. I think they should have a separate hall of fame for that. I think those dudes showed no class. Mother fuck this & that again and again and again.
I remember reading about Ed's talk about Michael J Fox a month ago, but while watching last night totally forgot about that part untill I was reading these posts this morning. Watching again this morning, just before Given to Fly starts you can barely hear Ed say " This is for you.".
Well I will echo a little more. I was very moved by the whole PJ segment. What a great ride these guys have given us. The opening riffs of Alive very emotional. Reminded me of the first time I heard it. I was washing dishes at a restaurant when I was 14, and one day, one of the cooks brought in and played on the kitchen boombox that life changing TEN ALBUM. And all that has happened with each album since.

Agreed! Was really waiting to see the Michael J Fox tribute but no luck!
The first time I heard PJ I was going driving through an intersection in 1992 with my windows down and I passed a jeep who was turning in front of me and I heard " ihh ihh ihh I'm Still Alive!!!!!! " and I thought " What the fuck was that??? ".
It would be almost a year later that I would find out who that was.

I love hearing about people's first experience with PJ back in the day. That first impression that changed everything.
Like I say, I had just got to the kitchen 6:AM to wash dishes. It was a Sunday morning. And typically you start off with a bunch of nasty crusty pots and pans before the restruant opens, you know some shit that the night dishwasher decided to leave for the morning guy. BBQ ribs & chicken was the Saturday night special. BBQ Rib pans full of baked on BBQ sauce and greese, some outdated pancake batter in crusty plastic pitchers with plastic wrap. I'd have to run the shit through the machine dishwasher 3 times before the shit would start to loosen up so you could scrub it off. You want to hurry up and get this shit done before the breakfast plates start rolling in. Well here comes Mac, the cook. Says "Listen up bitches, check this shit out!! Puts that TEN album on. He Mac the cook starts slam dancing in the kitchen bouncing off the walls and me he is singing out loud "GOT A 16 GAUGE BURRIED UNDER MY CLOTHES, ONCE APON A TIME, I COULD LOVE YOU!!AH AH ONCE.". This is my first listen. (With in a few days, one of the hot waitresses was walking around going
do do do do, do do doooooooo.)
Holly shit washing dishes instantly became fun! And then EVENFLOW, ALIVE, WHY GO, and it goes on. I was 14, (now im 40) lol. Mac was 17. I said I need my own copy today. After work he drove me to the local music store and there it was. He & I rode around listening to his copy in the car and he brought a 6 pack of Old Style that he snagged from the restruant cooler on the way out. lol.
It's Sunday I think I will listen to 10 again for the first time.
A few weeks later there was a highschool dance. The DJ was playing hip hop and pop "mixes". Im a freshman and Mac is a popular senior. He goes up to the DJ with his PJ album and says "Stop playing all that bubble gum bullshit music! Here PUT THIS ON! It was magical, basically the whole school experienced Pearl Jam for the first time all at ONCE! It was so new at the time, most people hadn't heard this yet.
And Mac & I start jumping around, and before long everyone in the gymnasium was bouncing around. That was awesome.
