Fake Moline????

Has there been a discussion on the possibility of fake Moline's floating around? A very highly suspicious one just popped up on that big auction site. The seller has no feedback and just created their account. The subject for the sale doesn't even make mention of Moline however that is the poster they've pictured. It is titled "Pearl Jam Poster Telluride Emek Ride Festival David Welker Spusta Artist Mondo". The description doesn't even mention moline. It just says (Poster Pearl Jam Rock N Pop Size 18" X 24"). The seller is located in Indonesia. I'd be willing to bet the winner of that auction won't be too happy when they receive their prize!!

Looks like it was just taken down. It really sucks that you have to be on your toes and know what you are looking at or you could get fleeced! God help me if my wife ever tries to buy me a poster. She would have no clue!! Luckily she would never buy me anything!!!!

Well it actually wasn't taken down! It looks like someone actually bought it! Unreal!!
  • Yeah, seems to be a couple of them. One sold yesterday for the same price of $50.00. Says ships from New York, but if you click the seller's name it says based in Indonesia. Listing was under "Pearl Jam Moline, IL 10/17/14 Poster picture home deccor"

Out of curiousity, I bought a poster of a show I've been to (not PJ) knowing it was a fake. It was $8 so I said what the hell. It came and it wasn't even on paper. haha It was like a silky cloth with the print on it and wasnt even 18 x 24. Way smaller

I saw that yesterday morning and was tempted to pull the trigger but it seemed too good to be true.

I bought that one yesterday, so we will see. I figure if it is a fake I will get a refund through ebay/paypal's buyer protection. The same seller has an auction for a Milwaukee that started at $50 yesterday.

I hope it turns out to be real... that's a great deal

Man, all those posters that are going up on Ebay like that are definitely fakes. They are all being listed by individuals with zero feedback. Additionally, it will say that the item is located somewhere in the US, however the Ebay members are from Indonesia. I was actually following a 1998 East Troy poster from one of those sellers and bid on it just for kicks. However, it was eventually mysteriously taken down and the Ebayer is no longer a member on Ebay. Somebody must have reported that person. They are all fake, and it is really a shame that people are stooping to such a new low selling fake posters. Before the fake '98 East Troy was taken down, it was up to over $200 with 6 days left.

HaHa! Nice. I probably would have done the same if I had seen it in time. Not that $50.00 is something to laugh at, but for that price it's worth a shot. Even if it's fake, maybe it's a high quality job. Re that Milwaukee, I love that the description is "Mint show edition poster for Pearl Jam's Moline 2014 show." Didn't even try to change it up!

So, it was a fake...no surprise, but it isn't too bad. Print quality is decent, but the paper quality is a bit weak (it needs to be heavier), but I that won't be noticed in a frame. Believe me, I would much rather give my cash to the artist, but that is not an option. And $500 on the bay? No. This will be a good place holder until I can trade for a real one.

    Stupid photobucket.

  • Looks darker. Was it made on a printer or did they try and silkscreen it?
  • It was printed. The papers is light and slick, and the edges bleed a bit and aren't crisp at all. The easiest place to see it is on the text.

If you put in a claim that it was fake you can get your money back and I bet the guy won't even have you ship it back because he'll have to pay for it.

  • Good point. Overall it was worth it, but I'd much rather give my cash to the artist or the band because this show was amazing.

Def get your cash back. You can tell just by looking at it it's a fake, well any poster guy or girl can tell.
