If The Candidates Were Different, Would It Potentially Affect Your Vote?

Are you voting party, candidate, or against one of the two? Would your vote change if the candidate were a different one?

If the candidate is not affecting your vote, choose other

I don't vote party, I vote for the best person for the job.

And that's Bernie, but he chose to go a different route.

    Interesting poll, HFD.

This time and forever more I am voting for the candidate for whom I have the greatest affinity- doesn't matter what party, doesn't matter what grief I may get for doing so- I have to be true to my beliefs... forever and even, amen and hallefuckinlujah!

    Could maybe have the options:

    Proudly voting Hillary
    Proudly voting Trump

I know there are a few here that would choose these options.

I've always voted Dem, although they can often be more centrist then I'd like. I'd feel horrible if I voted third party and a Republican won. Too bad Bernie's ancient already, otherwise I'd be feeling the 2020 Bern.

I tend to vote for the best candidate, in my opinion. I tend to lean towards the Democratic side, but consider myself an independent.

Even though my vote is critical living here in Florida I will be voting for Jill Stein. I hope she's on the ballot.

I usually (but not always) vote Democrat at the national level. Right now I am undecided between Clinton, Johnson and Stein.

So I guess my answer to the question is yes. If it were a different Democrat running it could potentially affect my vote.

I kind of misunderstood the question, I think. IF the candidates were different, i.e. Bernie Sanders was the Democratic nominee, I would vote for him.

Interested to see who my state (NJ) votes for. Would think the state would be for the clintonian, but who knows these days.

do people who are voting for the 3rd party candidates do you really believe either Johnson or Stein is worthy of being President or is it just a vote against Clinton and Trump?

I believe between Stein, Johnson, Clinton and Trump, Stein is the one most worthy, otherwise I would not vote for her. She's the only one who places any real emphasis on environmental issues. In a world inhospitable for human life, there is no such thing as a "president".

Depending on your state, a third party vote is a vote for Trump or Clinton. I voted for change in the primary, now I'm voting for less damage.

I do not believe any of them are worthy....yet I believe people must vote. Cannot vote for the top 2 choices because I find them both to be horrible choices. I know 3rd party won't win and refuse to be "forced" to vote for one of the choices I abhor.

This is where I am as well. Johnson is awkward, and clearly under qualified in terms of foreign policy to say the least. But he isn't Trump or Clinton, so that's a big plus. In my state, it is a foregone conclusion that Clinton will get the nod, so I use my vote to express my displeasure with the shit show the two major parties have subjected us to.
