I liked Far Behind...Hard Sun takes the cake because it was such a great finisher. Ed was loving it...

I also enjoyed Arc...I'd really love to know the details of how that works and he gets those sounds.

Ed uses a loop recorder. It's a silver metal box that he brings out. Kind of reminds me of the hearing tests they did in school (box wise). There are a bunch of nobs and Ed sings the looping part then just pushes a button to loop it over and over. He then sings the higher parts like (riot act) with the mic over those. He has headphones on so he can hear the loops so the mic parts sound right and he can sing those on key with the loop. Kind of like they do with in ear monitors during a regular show. I saw Ed play Arc in Dallas AMAZING! Aside from the fact he asked for people to be quiet for that one and they screamed like it was a sporting event.

When I saw Ed in Vancouver, the 2nd night he did Hard Sun, I BAWLED my eyes out, big fat tears...He looked so gleeful singing it...and I remember back in the early 90's singing it (when I was alone) like it was the only song that mattered...and I have a lot of sentimental attachment to the song....

Anyway, there Ed was singing this song and being so in the moment and so happy - I started to choke up and then came the water works...My gosh...ED....singing a song that has so much meaning with so much meaning....

So, to all of you who see him on this east coast tour and feel overwhelmed with joy during Hard Sun...good on you!!

Guaranteed because he initially couldn't get the second chord right (after 4 tries) and went into No Ceiling. Was totally disappointed he couldn't nail the song. Then after 2 more songs, he instantly went into Guaranteed and made the night.

Also, Porch, only because it was a pleasant surprise and he (and us in the crowd) totally pulled it off.

I just stood there with my mouth open
Wishlist made me cry, sooo beautiful, and Man of the Hour. I loved Porch and was surprised to hear Lukin. He has such versatility, I was amazed.

    millworker

    (James Taylor cover)

emotionally charged and jaw dropping in Ed's show

    Millworker

Now my grandfather was a sailor
He blew in off the water
    My father was a farmer
    And i, his only daughter
Took up with a no good millworking man
    From massachusetts
Who dies from too much whiskey
And leaves me these three faces to feed

    Millwork ain't easy
    Millwork ain't hard
    Millwork it ain't nothing
    But an awful boring job
    I'm waiting for a daydream
To take me through the morning
And put me in my coffee break
Where I can have a sandwich
    And remember

Then it's me and my machine
For the rest of the morning
For the rest of the afternoon
And the rest of my life

Now my mind begins to wander
To the days back on the farm
I can see my father smiling at me
    Swinging on his arm
I can hear my granddad's stories
Of the storms out on lake eerie
Where vessels and cargos and fortunes
    And sailors' lives were lost

Yes, but it's my life has been wasted
And I have been the fool
    To let this manufacturer
Use my body for a tool
I can ride home in the evening
    Staring at my hands
Swearing by my sorrow that a young girl
Ought to stand a better chance

So may I work the mills just as long as I am able
And never meet the man whose name is on the label

It be me and my machine
For the rest of the morning
And the rest of the afternoon
Gone for the rest of my life

I'm gonna go with Dead Man and I'm One, plus Milworker, cause for the outro seemed like Ed was doing "Sparks" from Tommy.

    1) Arc (surreal)
    2) Guaranteed (moment of panic...the medication was fucking with the all-important brain/finger connection - Fortunately the brain/fingers came out on top)
    3) Man of the Hour (Grandfather Taylor RIP)
    4) I am Mine (one of my ringtone ;) )
    5) Hard Sun (loved the dry-ice & lab coats)
    6) Porch (love the enregy of that song)
    7) No More (Such an important message - No More War!)

    8) Loved every single song of the night. Thanks Eddie
