Check out Morphine

I mentioned Morphine in my thread about Sturgil Simpson but I think they need their own thread so more of you guys have the opportunity to hear about them and hopefully give them a listen. Cure For Pain and Yes are their two best albums and damn near every song is killer. Their lead singer Mark Sandman died during a concert in Italy in 1999. He played bass which only had 2-3 strings. Anyway, do yourself a favor and check out Morphine.

So lucky to have lived in Boston when they were still playing there. Fantastic amazing band, live and recorded. Thanks for reminding me how wonderful they are!

They have another album called 'Good', which I have on vinyl, not quite as good as 'Cure For Pain', which is a classic, but still a great record. The Doco on the band is excellent..
A wop bop a loo bop a lop bam boom.
  • Just listened to "Cure for Pain". I really like the sound. Did it remind anyone else of Dada's Puzzle, more specifically "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow". I used to love that album, made me want to listen to Dada again.
  • Always loved these guys. Rip sandman. Love the sax
I'm like an opening band for your mom.

I'm in the crowd photo (Central Square World's Fair) in the band's Best Of compilation.

One of my favorites. Dana Colley still plays with different bands in the area--one of those being Vapors of Morphine.
