The White Helmets - Netflix Documentary

Anybody watched this yet? It is quite a riveting documentary about the Syrian Civil Defense - a group of volunteers who risk their lives to dig people out of the rubble after bombings. They are now credited with saving over 60,000 people. Many of whom were fighting for one side or the other but have seen that saving others is more important than killing. It really opened my eyes to what is going on in Syria, and brought it a lot closer to home. The group (and film) has, of course, also seen their share of criticism. I didn't view it as a film showing who is right or wrong in Syria and did notice they only show the Russians and Syrian gov't bombings. What it did show is that the civilians there are going through something that we literally cannot imagine, and here in the US we have many groups trying to claim that all refugees should just suck it up and stay where they are. Why can't we all agree that these people need help?

I just heard about them less then an hour ago. They were first on scene where a UN relief convoy was bombed.

I saw a BBC article about that earlier too, it was the first I had heard of them outside of the documentary. Pretty scary that the UN is pulling aid from Syria too.

Some of their rescue videos get posted online not sure if by them or not...hard to watch anyone getting pulled from bombings especially children.

Pretty much cold blooded murder as the convey had permits and all parties had been notified of its existence
