And I quote from the Bergen County, NJ, Wretched, uh, RECORD, in their stellar review of last night's show that redefines the classic critique coined by one of my college classmates while evaluating a poem for publication: Take the pen out of your hand so I can break your fingers.

But to the point, how come no one got all excited about this, and I quote: "The band treated the crowd to a song off the band's yet-to-be-released new album. Nine songs into the night, Vedder played 'Unemployment.' What? You expected something that wouldn't be so political?"

It is to weep, my children...

"Umemployment" ... B-side to brand new single "Life Wasteful".
  • Ed did say that it was "a track from the next record" when introducing it, which got everyone excited
  • I thought he said "our new record"

I actually delivered the Sunday edition of the Bergen Record for a neighborhood kid a couple times. Man, over 20 years ago. I would cut out my Wayne Gretsky and Doug Flutie pictures from my family's copy to post on my high school locker. :D

Well, it was never known as better than ok.
