Drops? Better odds?

So I want to preface this post with letting you know I'm in no way complaining about the Ten club. I was just wondering with the upcoming drops, do you think the new " psst " method ie random drops at ANY time is a better way of doing it than to let us know ahead of time of what time they will be? I mean wouldnt we have to be by our computer all day to even have a chance? Thoughts? I personally would rather know ahead of time. I seem to get what I want 50% of the time this way, but the random times seems way more difficult.

I did think that maybe for the popular items in short supply like setlist shirts or the really in demand posters (Thomas, Faile) they could try doing a drop with no pssst. But that wouldn't really achieve much because we all know that as soon as it was noticed in the shop somebody else would post something about it.
If you keep track and are fairly diligent, it really isn't that random. The posters are basically released in a cluster. Typically 1 poster every weekday. Pssst messages are usually posted somewhat early (like 7-8AM Pacific) if no poster is going to be offered, which allows everyone to lower their guard. Otherwise, normally we see a release between 9AM-10AM Pacific. Sometimes a curveball like Thomas was released earlier yesterday, then 10c doubled down with the Taylor. They are pretty good with giving us the heads up if there is no posters, which makes the process much easier.
I believe if they went with a lottery with the high demand posters such as The Catch, Lexington, Sperry... it would encourage over-buying IMO and a high % of people will throw their hat in the ring for trade bait. Lotteries seem to do that.
Im not sure if more or less 'flippers' are getting ahold of posters.
With this random drop, I have been refreshing the shop since 9/23 either via desktop or mobile device as often as I was able too. It was very frustrating and multiple times I was ready to just quit with it. I pretty much figured that when it did drop, I would miss it and it would have all been for nothing.
However, I refreshed at 1030EST and boom it was there. It actually stayed there a lot longer than I expected, and I guarantee it stayed there longer than if everyone knew exactly what time it was going to drop (like DMB). As big of a pain in the butt that it is, I have to say the random drop is effective in it's own way of people wanting the poster for themselves. I do not think it is necessarily the best way maybe, but I do think it is effective. I will say THANK GOD that drop is over though!
For a high demand item, it really doesn't matter which way it goes, its going to be tough to get.
If Santos had posted that the Thomas poster was up for sale starting at 13 O'clock on October 32, all you'd get was more folks frustrated at having it in their cart then having trouble finishing the purchase and ultimately getting shut out.
The last scheduled drop that I can remember on here was the mystery vinyl debacle, I'll take these random drops over that every time
Please stay random Pony boy, stay random.
