Love Reign O'er ME as an opener?

So i downloaded the Vh1 performance, and saw it live at camden night 1, and each time i've been blown away. And each time it was an "opener" (vh1- open set camden-open encore 1)
What do you guys think about it as a show opener?
i think it would have the same effect as severed hand, a slow build up, into an explosion of emotion, and a great way to kick off a concert

Release is a better song anyways.
Since they play it to open encores already, I'd leave it there. Only because they won't play songs like Long Road, Oceans, Release, Wash, etc any other time besides an opener (except the rarest of events)...
But I'd love to see it replace Crazy Mary
haha before i saw this (except the rarest of events) i was going to say i can think of 3 opf 4 of those where they havent been played as openers.
work = work + 1;
sleep = sleep - work * 10;}
else if (work >= 0) {
reality.equals(false);
work = work +1;
}system("pause");
return 0;}
i dont think anyone would thenk they are seeing a cover band

opening with LROM would greatly reduce the chances of 'kicking it in'
i'm all for a reprisal of Katowice '00 II, but I'm sure I can speak for those fortunate enough to see this song live, Ed pours his whole soul into this song and prob doesn't have a whole lot left after it
Prob not the best idea to open with it if you plan on playing 25+ songs after it
agreed.
i think ed needs to get his vocal cords all warmed up and limber before belting out the screams in this tune properly.
and yes, they HAVE opened with covers in the past. i believe MSG I 2003 they opened with crazy mary.
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow
to each his/her own. hard to imagine while definitely awesome...i think release in verona tops my list. oceans is damn fine too. seriously, soooo many great tunes, so many great openers to choose from!

True they did open with Crazy Mary on a number of occasions. Philly and MSG '03 come to mind. The difference between Crazy Mary and LROM is that nobody knows who the fuck Victoria Williams is. It's practically a Pearl Jam song. Had Pearl Jam not played it nobody would have ever heard it. The Who are rock legends and LROM is without a doubt of Who song and everyone knows it.
I'd bet a large sum of money that more than 1/2 of an average crowd at a PJ show does not know tlhat Crazy Mary is not their song.
Back on topic... It would be an amazing opener but should not be used as an opener by PJ. Just my opinion.
