EV will be there for Seattle shows, which will be recorded for a blu ray I bet...

But reading he is in nyc for a charity event tells me it's possible he shows up at MSG... which would be very cool for those going

Going into Friday night, I prepared myself for no Ed, that way I wouldn't be let down if / when he didn't show.

    Now I'm glad he didn't.

Hunger strike was good enough as it was, and the rest of the night was amazing. These 5 guys made this album & deserve the chance to see what they can do with it. Eddie was a major part of one song, but only one song, he's not in TOTD. Had he shown up, there probably would have been some pressure felt to include him in more songs...... they probably don't need that. Friday's show was amazing enough on its own with such ambitious cover songs..... exactly what I was hoping for out of this show. No Eddie necessary.

Would I have loved to see him make an appearance? Of course, but I think the way they did Philly was great & the show wasn't any less without him.

I feel the same way . The show exceeded my expectations. Couldn't believe when they covered Achillies last stand ! Would of been cool if Eddie showed , but I wasent disappointed at all with the show! Unforgettable night !!

Was at the show last night. Have to admit I was a touch disappointed when they did Hunger Strike halfway through first set without him. But the more I thought about it they really didn't need him and this band/show was more than good enough on their own and deserved the night to themselves without any special guests jumping in.
They were really good and you'd never believe that they haven't been a band together in 25 years.

Exactly. They do not need Ed. Ed was part of one big song but that is all. I understand this is a PJ message board but don't understand the obsession with Ed showing up at these shows.
I love that people don't want ed performing with his band and a band he was a part of but fucking drool/obsess over every interview, camera shot and 7th inning stretch as a new found Cubs fan during the playoffs. (Not meaning you specifically bud)
EV has always been my favorite member of PJ but even I realize things have gotten a little out of control lately lol

I would pay $100 just to see McCready play the solo from Reach Down again.

Do it. After seeing night 1 in Philly and having paid a lot more it's definitely worth it and you'll be more disappointed if you didn't do it.

Agreed. TOTD is part of Pearl Jam's history. This is likely a one time thing, don't pass up the chance to see them.

If EV shows up, other than Hunger Strike, Comfortably Numb would be a killer choice. PJ covers it, CC covers it. Both could sing. Just sayin'.

I think he will be in at least 1 seattle show (most likely the last one), but I think not showing the whole tour it was the way to go, this is about TOTD and not Eddie, he will take too much spotlight and TOTD is not about that... at least that's what I think and dont get me wrong, if he shows in SF I will not get mad but if he doesn't will not matter, looks like they are doing absolutely great without him

After going to the show on Friday, I 100% agree. Ed's presence would overshadow what the band is doing, and that would be a shame.

Case in point: people are suggesting they play footsteps and / or comfortably numb with him. After seeing the setlists they performed w/ ambitious covers of Zep, The Cure, Bowie & of course, the classic War Pigs, I'm left wondering why anyone would want to hear PJ songs in that set.

To each his own, but TOTD was completely mind blowing on Friday night. Don't change a thing.

I totally agree. I had no yearning at all to hear them play a pj song. I had a blast watching them play songs I've never heard them play before and play them so well! They seemed to be having a blast too!

I would pay $100 without a doubt, to see these guys! I wouldn't even cared if EV showed up. These guys together are bad ass and were a big part of my early adulthood. I hope they decide to add more shows. I would love the opportunity to see TOTD! So many memories with this album!

I would love if these guys did a bigger tour based on this...... I would love to see them again.

I was pleasantly surprised by Stone's energy. And after I had just told someone before the show that he'd probably stay back near the drum riser. Even Matt Cameron seemed very smiley.
