I would love to go because I have never been so blown away by an opening act. He was amazing in NYC, so much so, that I bought his last album. The thing is the album is good but can't capture how he is live. I also meet him in the lobby right before ED came on and he signed my snipper.

Agreed, but I'm still going to the show. He has a lot of live stuff released too.

I cant wait to see him at the El mo in Toronto in Oct. I also bought his album after seeing him live and I agree it doesnt capture his live act. But still a good album nonetheless. Hear some people say his live "act" is nothing special but I was amazed at his young talent. And hes been playing with Eddie since his late teens.

I have a ticket for this show but I still don't know if I'll be able to make it :(. If I can't I'm giving it to someone on this board so no matter what the ticket won't go to waste.

  • I'm going! His set before the Ed show in NY was great! Then during the break I went out to buy a poster cause I couldn't wait until the end of the show because I thought they'd sell out. And I met Liam and Eliza and they signed one of their live CDs I bought :) Can't wait to go! A bit disappointed that no one I know wants to go with me though :( But oh well its gonna be great!
  • i would love to go... but just cant get to the city on thursday... too much traveling.

I was also totally blown away by liam finn... in fact i havnt been this excited about a pj/ed opening act since sonic youth back in 00.

his album is great, but as already mentioned doesnt do his live stuff justice... that's why i picked up his live stuff at the ed show, as well as one that wasnt sold at the merch booth on kufala.com...
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

Isn't your liking Pearl Jam the exact same thing as Eddie Vedder liking The Who? Band formed around the time you were born, still playing as you're growing up, going down in rock history....

But the way you phrased it did make me do a double take. Somehow I picture all Pearl Jam fans being guys in their 30s and 40s, because that seems to be most of the audience at shows.

Honestly you're lucky to have found them...I just stumbled onto them because they got famous at a time when I happened to be an impressionable MTV viewer. 5 years earlier and I wouldn't have noticed them.

If we ever meet at a show I'll buy you a drink. Of soda. ;-)

    thanks alot!
i met some pretty cool people, much older than me at MSG.
seems like Pearl Jam fans are some of the nicest out there, even if they can't stop themselves from screaming in small theaters ;)
