Wrigley bootlegs

  • Technically, this Saturday would be the same amount of time between the 2nd shows and bootleg releases (Fenway 2 was 8/7 and release was 8/26). Wrigley 2 was 8/22 and release could be 9/10. But, like others said, the whole not playing on PJ radio is weird. If they are holding out for a DVD release, why would they not do a whole package deal with Fenway? Why release one and not the other? Very strange indeed.

I continue to think that Fenway bootlegs mean we'll see Wrigley bootlegs. If not, then I guess eventually I'll get around looking for a decent audience recording...

Maybe a Vinyl box set of all 3 Wrigley shows can come out around the holiday season with digital files and cd's available as well.

If you have noticed with any of the vault or vinyl releases, they have kept them all to short length shows. Even trimming shows to keep the length shorter.. Even this last LA 98 show is shorter than many other shows that tour.. Don't think we are going to be seeing vinyl on 3 hour shows..
Not at 28 min a side  That would be 5-6 LPs.

One would hope it would mean that maybe we'd got a box set or something and include the unreleased 2013 show (sort of like the Gorge set). Only problem is I'm pretty sure the band has had great intentions to release blurays/dvds/shows before, and sometimes they don't get around to it :(

Five of the seven shows I've been to (PJ20 and the Wrigs) haven't officially seen the light of day at this point. Hoping for a Gorge-esque box set- at least for the three Wrigley shows.

So it hit me this morning....a box set is the plan, it'll have all 3 Wrigley shows and it will be called "Lightning Strikes Twice".

I assume if Fenway was getting the same treatment (whatever it may be), they would have held back the Fenway boots too. Which is a bummer, Fenway is equally as historic a ballpark, and the shows were amazing.

Yea but Chicago is Eddie's hometown and the Cubs are his team. Of course I'm just assuming this is why Wrigley Field might be getting different treatment from the Fenway shows. Both stadium runs were highlights of the 2016 tour for sure.

Still some variables...is it a dvd/cd box set? Just a dvd release? Or the big kahuna, a vinyl/bluray box set? That would cost a ton but would be worth it! Also..will they throw in the 2013 show? This is probably the best chance it will ever get released in some kind of form.

Now they have said, "pssst there is a good reason why we are holding onto the Wrigley shows for a bit."
So my guess is Super Tuesday, or Black Friday, just in time for Christmas.

And would 13 be on there. I loved 13. Kind of like Gorge 05/06? At this point I just want soundboard audio of the shows I go to: Wrigley and PJ20 have been no go.

I'm guessing they used Fenway as a warmup to make sure they were all setup to film Wrigley. Theoretically the band has filmed a number of shows they've never released.. but it does feel like the Fenway filming was to iron out the kinks for Wrigley.

edit: They also wore the same shirts on both nights of Wrigley, so I'm guessing we get a concert bluray, but rather than both shows in their entirety, they'll probably do a compilation using footage from both nights (otherwise why would they have worn the same clothes?)

We saw the camera crew that was at Murphys several times throughout the weekend so Id imagine some video is in the works. Please let there be VINYL of these shows!!! :prayer:
  • They said in the 10c email "pssst, we have our reasons for holding this back for a bit" so this not only gives me hope for some sort of release but it also greatly excites me for the possibilities!!

After the NLDS last night, FS1 aired a show called "Confessions of a Cubs Fan," tracing the history of the team and their fans. Ended with pretty cool multi-cam footage of EV playing "All The Way" at Wrigley this year.
