san diego 06 bootleg:matts drum change

So im listening to san diego 06 right now and immediately noticed that "Last kiss" has a COMPLETELY different drum sound to it. i mean, snare, bass, toms, cymbals, everything. what the hell happened? did matt pull out a new kit out of his ass?

    If it's the way they played it in LA right afterwards, (I was behind the stage) they turned around and played it to the people behind. He had a small stand-up kit set up. And Eddie stood beside him and sang.

    yeah...the stand-up kit is called a "cocktail" kit...I noticed he had one set up for the '06 tour as well...

    Eddie did more than stand beside him at San Diego. He climbed up a ladder.

    if playing for 2 years is new then yes. dave a overplayed like crazy, he had as many cymbals and accent shits like portnoy. it was just a random thought, i wasnt completely serious. obviously theyre very different. but you have to be a complete fool not to think portnoy is a rip off of neil peart. I mean, he even writes nearly all the lyrics for dream theater, just like Peart.

    Cool..im a guitarist, but i'm always locked into the drums. sometimes i wish i was a drummer!
