Eddie Vedder jams at a Chicago bar the day after Lollapalooza

Eddie Vedder showed up at a bar called 'Stanley's' in Chicago the day after Lollapalooza. The bar was filled with people attending a private party hosted by Chris Chelios (NHL hockey player), supporting his charity golf outing.
Stanley's can only be described as a bar. There is a small stage and it can only hold a couple of hundred at most. The rumor was out that Eddie was going to attend the event and possibly play. The last couple of years this annual event featured Kid Rock.
I wasn't lucky enough to be one of the invited guests but I had a connection to the bar owner and I called in a favor. I walked in the door still not knowing that Eddie would even be there but there was something in the air. My first vision was the house band playing a Stones song or something. I could'nt really think at this point. The band caught my attention when they introduced Kid Rock. I thought that was pretty cool and I was excited but I wasnt there to see Kid Rock. My juices were flowing, so I didnt even have time to be disappointed that Eddie wasn't on stage. I looked around and noticed a brief case with a bunch of WHO stickers on it near the mike stand. I knew right away WHO that case belonged too! I began to look around and there he sat! Eddie Vedder was at a table with Chris Chelios and Dennis Rodman. Eddie was drinking a pint glass of red wine and smoking cigarettes.
Finally, Kid Rock stopped his jam and jumped off stage. The house band played for a while and then asked Eddie to come up and he kind of shrugged it off. The band broke in to the opening chords of 'Black' and to everyones surprise Eddie jumped up on stage and belted it out... WE, WE, BELONG TOGETHER, TOGETHER... ended the song! He did a quick set, took a break to drink another pint glass of red wine and smoke some more cigarettes and later came back for more! I got pretty drunk myself that night but here is the set list as I remember it:
Black, Elderly Woman, Breath, I'm One (w/Kid Rock doing back beats)(Who cover), Take Me Out To The Ballgame (w/Kid Rock, Chris Chelios), I Can't Explain (Who cover), Behind Blue Eyes (Who cover), Baba O'Riley (Who cover), Yellow Ledbetter, Rockin' In The Free World (Neil Young).
I had a brief opportunity to say hello to Eddie. Being a huge WHO fan, I told him that no one was better than Eddie Vedder and Pete Townshend. Eddie responded by saying that no one was better than Pete! We grinned, he hugged me or I hugged him! Does it matter? He's a rock star and I'm some guy from Chicago but on this day we were two guys that shared a love for Pete Townshend. Be lucky, he said!
Once in a lifetime! That's all I could think!
