T-shirts worn by Eddie and Jeff @ 1992 show

I have shirts worn by Eddie and Jeff @ a April 6, 1992 concert in Lowell, Massachusetts. There is strong likelihood Eddie's shirt is the same one he wore for the MTV Unplugged show just a few weeks prior. I was 21 and amazed by their performance and when I saw the sweaty shirts rolled in a ball on the back of the truck they were loading up with the band's equipment I couldn't resist the idea of an authentic souvenir and grabbed em (not my proudest moment). Anyway, I have held onto them for all these years and now I'd like to see something good come of the whole deal. Maybe they could be auctioned off and the proceeds given to Vitalogy Foundation charities. I think the first thing that would need to happen is the guys would need to verify authenticity. So after seeing PJ put on a spellbinding show @ Fenway Park a week ago it dawned on me I could try to reach out online. This seemed the most likely place to do so. So, everyone, lend me your thoughts. And, no, I do not wish to sell these for profit. Just wouldn't feel right. image

And I'm obviously doing something wrong trying to post the photo I took. Have tried to post links to FB and Instagram to no avail.

I believe the statute of limitations has run on the petit larceny has run, so you should be fine on that front! Take some pics and compare it to the Unplugged show (or concert if you have photos) and maybe try to contact the Ten Club?

I for one wouldn't post about stealing the band's clothing on their website.

I'm trying to get them BACK to them, or use them for a good cause. That's the whole reason for my post.

I was hoping they'd chop em' up and create some 'jersey' card inserts at the next baseball park show. @tempo_n_groove

OK, so I'm not looking to just give them away. I actually like them and they have sentimental value. So if it came down to a random drawing where some "lucky winner" gets the shirts I've held onto for 24 years, no thanks. I get they were never really "mine" to begin with, but if I'm going to bid them adieu, I'd it to be in a slightly more meaningful way than "Wow, cool, the Ten Club wheel of fortune landed on "Deepismyfavoritesong2009."" ... I emailed tenclub and we'll see what they have to say. Thx for all the feedback!!

I'm sure the 10c would be interested in EV's shirt especially if it's the same one used in unplugged.

Yes, washed, dryed, folded and cared for. Meeting women was more of a priority to me than keeping a stinky couple of Ts "authentic." HA!!!

Loved me some speed in early elementary school back in the late 70s when I used to run home from the bus stop to catch it on TV around 3:30pm or so. That damn Chim Chim though :nuh_uh:

Well... Since it's the property of the band shouldn't they get to decide what happens to it?

I think it's been far to long to validate who's tshirts they really were unless Ed can look at the tag on the shirt and remember what Tshirt he was wearing 25 years ago:) if they are really theyre shirts then yes that is pretty cool
But I honestly think there is no way to really know. It's Possible the James brown Tshirt would be easiest to authenticate ownership. Just my opinion:)

I guess if I knew the band was behind the effort/idea, I'd be up for whatever. And I do get a kick out of some of these self-righteous posts, as I'm certain that, given the circumstances, all of you would have walked past that truck and left those shirts where they were. I was 21 and singing in a band that was already covering PJ, and had just walked out of a show that I knew was something to be remembered. A show that, on paper, shouldn't even have happened. I mean these guys weren't ready to sell out stadiums yet, but they were certainly bigger than a dank little (former) gymnasium in Lowell, MA. The show was sold out (I think 500 tickets sold) but I had a friend who was working security who got me in the door. Eddie was everything you see in those early videos (and still is) - fiery, passionate, angst-ridden, and prone to jumping into the crowd, which he did a handful of times, once right over my head. We walked down the stairs and they were loading up a bunch of stuff into this box truck and I saw this ball of stuff sitting on the edge. Had it been anything truly valuable I wouldn't even have considered it, but owning those T-shirts was a no-brainer for me. Now put yourself outside the stadium of your most recent show. You're walking along and there behind the tour bus is a plaid shirt with the sleeves cut off - it's all too familiar, as you just saw one of your idols wearing it on stage. Hmmmmmm ...

You're right Dreamer, and without the JB T, I wouldn't even bother with all this. But I think that it's unique enough that one of the guys will remember it and we'll be one step closer to authentication.
